Description
Philo Gaines is a legend: mountain man, Indian fighter, Texas Ranger, army scout, and father of three grown sons. In September, 1873, Matthew Gaines, the eldest son, arrives in the Texas town of Mustang Flats as its new schoolteacher. Haunted by a past he can't seem to outrun, he discovers in Mustang Flats an unexpected connection to his own family: a secret that could cost him his life, which brings his brothers David and Luke to town. When all hell breaks loose, the boys must come out from under their father's shadow and become legends in their own right in a showdown with destiny.
