Description
Big Bend National Park covers 788,682 acres in the bend of the Rio Grande in Brewster County, Texas. Created in 1943, the park is in an area that the early Spanish explorers called "the uninhabited place" and was once home to fierce Apache and Comanche warriors. With its varied topography, the park is filled with a startling array of plants and animals, some of which are found nowhere else in the country.
