Description
One of Tennessee Williams best known and honored works, first produced on Broadway in 1945, is a delicate memory play about a family of Southern eccentrics. The deeply autobiographical story revolves around the vain, domineering Amanda Wingfield, abandoned by her husband, but still caught up in fantasies of her youthful reign as the belle of Jackson, Mississippi. her fantasies play havoc with the lives of her two children, cynical Tom and fragile Laura, who prefers the company of a menagerie of glass animals to the "gentlemen callers" urged on her by Amanda.
