The book also contains specific exercises to help you answer those questions. There are many stories in the book, stories from learners like you and stories from the author's own experience as a student, corporate recruiter, career adviser, faculty, and university administrator. Although the main audience of the book is learners in higher education (undergraduate and graduate), early and mid-career professionals would benefit from reflecting on the questions in this book as well. The answers to the questions may change, but the question themselves remain the same. The framework contained in the book was developed as part of a leadership seminar at the University of Michigan Medical School. The seminar has been successfully run for a number of years with extremely positive feedback from learners. We all do need to know the "WHAT" and the "HOW", but as we live our lives, the "WHY" becomes ever more important. Higher education currently does not do a good job with the "WHY". This book will help you fill that gap, and hopefully to help you live your life with greater meaning and purpose.
